The 7 Senses Winter Retreat Experiences sculpt and refine the inner senses.

We have been offering deep immersion winter retreats for over 30 years, with a foundation that is connected to very traditional winter self realisation techniques, practices and teachings. We address, root causes of body imbalances that present in the winter months - chemically, structurally, breathing, mentally & emotionally.

 

We delve into the special essence and attributes of the season: Winter brings stillness and pause. On retreat, pause gives us time to delve deeper into knowledge and learning. A pause to realise that wellbeing is our most valuable asset and that the wintertime pause is necessary to reset the inner foundations. 7 Senses Retreat offers time to become aware of how we are stuck in old patterns that are no longer serving us.

 

During the winter season, we find that healing processes can stagnate and the psychology tends to feel heavier. It is no longer a matter of shaking it off, we need a clean out of the 5 senses and a re-organisation of our cellular awareness. From this sensory restoration, with the right navigational techniques, we find the 6th and 7th senses a new baseline found deep within. We explore the very traditional landscape of the 7 Senses.  The thread throughout the weekend that interconnects all the inner faculties and facilities is the thread of Wellbeing & Mental Clarity with a neurological setting .

 

This is offered as an essential seasonal well-being retreat, that focuses on prioritising "wintering"—the art of resting to drop into deep baseline sensory calibrations. Core qualities of this Winter Retreat is to explore the potential and qualities of winter heat on the inner planes. Serving nutrient-dense meals, including ingredients like ginger, turmeric, and root vegetables to support the immune system. Mindful Movement Practices - to help release seasonal tension and cultivate inner strength without overtaxing the body and immune system. Reset the internal compass during winter months with Connection to Nature & Light.

 

To combat the "winter blues" or Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), this special restorative retreat encourages safe sun exposure and morning walks to regulate circadian rhythms and top up Vitamin D.  

 

If you are interested in knowledge and experience in the following areas then this retreat will aid in your personal development.  This retreat will take you on a 2 day journey to explore : how to repair your body from ongoing stress and the impact of daily stress, learn bodywork techniques for gut health and gut nervous system upgrade.

 

As you are guided into a deep immersion of self awareness to help you explore the 7 senses, you will have time for silence , nature walks on the beach, sunrise and sunset healing sessions and personal time for introspection and reflection.

This retreat is curated to  balance deep introspection with clarifying integration.

 

During this retreat weekend we "Welcome" the shortest day and longest night. Nature is pulling its energy downward into the frozen earth. We are here to ease our awareness within this this yearly rhythmic pattern.

Society teaches us to fear the dark, to constantly seek the light, and to burn bright without rest.  The solstice period and its potential can help resolve  exhaustion, anxiety, fear & ill-health. The dark as a space and time, in nature, is rich with fertile potential, but to get there, into this therapeutic space in time, nature requests certain qualities and traits to be cultivated first.

The invitation is to step away from everyday life, allow habits to fall away from body and mind, and  let the external world fade. The raw carbon  of your daily life experiences, conscious and unconscious, become the ingredients to the solstice refinement process, of reaching your diamond nature.

The Sound of Solstice Silence, when you are in retreat  washes over your nervous system with grace and your body sinks into a deep heavy rest like no other moment can .  As the sound of winter silence washes over you and permeates into your deep inner bedrock, you reach an inner foundation that is truly a place of rest and surrender . There is nothing to fix here. There is no one to please. You are completely whole and safe in this personal sanctuary.  Your mind stops searching for answers, and a personal richness in your wellbeing unfurls.  The heavy  dense pressure of winter is now a security blanket ensuring you arrive well placed within.

The Solstice period is not about escaping the dark. It is about learning to rest within it. Nature is quiet right now (during the deep winter). The trees are sending their energy down into their roots to tonify and strengthen their form. Over the three days of the solstice period we are invited to do the same.

The inner tools, techniques and resources you will learn, will enable the cultivation of  “the diamond-like clarity of your true nature”. No matter how heavy the year has been, your core remains unbreakable, pure, and clear.

Coastal Yoga & Kitchen Medicine has its own private exclusive Wellbeing Retreat Accommodation Located in Apollo Bay.

The retreat is designed and built with Wellbeing in Mind. The retreat houses 4 lockable bedrooms which can be hired separately, where you share the common areas with other guests or you can hire the entire home for yourself or group.

 

All bedrooms have either a double, queen or king size bed.
